.....In good condition (at the very least)if anyone's got one going begging [8|]. Southbound Trimmers couldn't help me out when I rang them today i'm afraid. This is a matter of urgency.....I think [&:]

Good chance 2 reduce weight, remove the thick heavy sound dreading replace with lighter space age spec, cover with thin carpet.

I have most but the side peices under the dash arent great and the rest could do with a clean was gonna strip it eventually anyway

That's a bit of a worry, as they are the only Porsche carpet specialist in Europe? They used to stock Porsche's special carpet, made from wool grown from Alpacas on a single farm in Peru, fed on a diet of Bratwurst and Sauerkraut.

Only joking, or at least only half-joking...[8|]

Ha, Ha!! Very funny McNutters! Subtle reference to the "Cow Shed" thread there me thinks [:D]. Duffman, thank you very much for your kind offer mate, I will bear it in mind if I decide to go the OE route. However, Terry, good idea on weight saving mate. I suppose I could strip it all out and get another trimming company to re-do it all in a light weight Black carpet. Southbound weren't very helpful on the phone yesterday re the carpets (or the re-trimming of the seats if i'm totally honest [8|]). I get the impression that they are mostly money oriented instead of being passionate about the marque. And, thinking back, from the questions I was asking, they probably thought I was a "Potless Peasant" looking for a cheap way out. No matter, there are many trimmers out there who do Classic Car work. They can't all be Bad! Also, what do I do about the door cards? I hate the ones that are there. Is there a carbon fibre option? I think I saw this somewhere on here before. Wouldn't mind a couple of Recaro Pole Position seats either while were at it [8|].

Hi Andy, yeah, I suppose I could do that too if I cant find a good set. Still playing about with Terry's idea at the moment though. Can't decide whether to "strip it out" and go "Lightweight" or, keep it more original looking on the inside.....Hmmm[8|]. Just a thought, do official Porsche Centre's do New carpet sets? God knows what they would charge for them though [:(]

Do both. Remove everything and only refit the carpet. Even the tattiest linen carpet can be rejuvenated with washing powder, a scrubbing brush and a steam cleaner.

They are NLA from Porsche I think, your best bet is probably a breakers or ebay. May take a while to fiind a good set though.

I brought 3 or 4 sets used sets and picked the best bits from each then dyed them to bring back the colour....then a local trimmer re-edged them for me cost only £15 they came up almost good as new[:)]
but me being me I wanted perfect so I brought new 968 carpets for the front [8|]

One bid.

968 carpets wont be available used unfortunately, because theyre glued in so well... Most cars are scrapped with them still fitted.

I have club auto sport carbon door cards in mine but can't recommend them for anything other than a track/race car as they have too many blemishes.

Deutschnine do a lovely set with a fibreglass top piece and carbon lower piece for not a whole load more money. Not listed on their site but email them for pics and prices, if I were doing it again I'd be going down that route.

They do do carpet sets for the 911. They probably don't do them for the 944 as demand is low and fabricating them from scratch is expensive, also the transmission tunnel makes the carpet sets difficult to fit compared to versions in the 911. They do floor mats for the 944.

Thanks for the tip off Sam. However, they are only really in "ok" condition. I'm going to keep thinking on which way i'm going to go on this. To strip or, not to strip, that is the question at the moment. Eldavo. i'm going to send Deutschnine an e-mail or, give them a bell re the carbon fibre door cards. Thanks for that mate [8D][:D]

Its only wear that matters Pedro, because dirt can always be removed (which people seldom realise). If you can find an unworn carpet then youre away.
