Fuel Pressure Testing

I doubt that the plunger could cause the issue. You would have poor starting a lot more often or feel flat spots when you put your foot down.
My intermittent starting on my SC was caused by corrosion on the fuel pump fuse.
Perhaps post a video of the cold start issue.

Ok, car hasn’t been started for 6 days. Fired up first shot, 1200revs down to a steady 950 after 3 mins. Will start again in 3 hours and then again tomorrow morning.
Videoed this but I can’t seem to attach it here.

I think a video of the SC not starting is the useful one. To me it still sounds like an intermittent cold start valve issue. Possibly poor electrical connection.
Try posting on Franck's WhatsApp SC group. Picture and video easy to add. Might get some more thoughts on your issues.

Thanks Rich. I tried to get on the WhatsApp via the qr code in the PCGB mag but it doesn’t seem to work.
Last week I started the car with the y and b/r wires to the TTS disconnected. Fired up in 2 secs, no surging at all, very steady tickover drives better than ever! Double bench checked TTS and all as it should be resistance warm and cold and activation with power to test light. Checked activation cranking from cold at CSV harness connector, light out at about 5secs. I think now the CSV is activating and not stopping when TTS tells it to (ie leaking). I need to get it out and test it again, I only checked it was activating before, not stopping!
This will wait ‘till the end of summer now I’m 99% sure it is the CSV.

Further to my previous posts re starting, I have had no issues at all since disconnecting the TTS wiring. The car starts and runs perfectly from cold, hot, and anything in between. I am now trying to source a CSV to put things back as they really should be but have a question re the correct part no for my '83 SC.

These are all interchangeable according to Design911 website. The last no seems to be for the 911 Turbo! just want to check that they are really the same before purchasing.

Any help, much appreciated.
