Front Suspension

After an ignominious crawl back home at 5 mph my car is off to the doctors with suspected broken torsion bar. Question is - whilst its in there should I be having anything else done/looked at? Not had any work done at the front in its 25 years apart from service items.
 
It depends on your budget really. Whilst the torsion bar's being replaced it would make good sense to replace all the front suspension bushes (not too expensive), and if you can run to it new dampers and ball as well.

Your suspension will need to be set up after the bar's been changed so it makes sense to get as much work done as you can afford rather than having to have a little bit more done in a year or two and then pay again for another suspension alignment after that. Get an opinion on the other torsion bar from your specialist whilst he's 'in there'.
 
Budget is whatever I can get past dearly beloved without her noticing, so not much! Do the upgraded turbo track rod ends make any noticeale difference to the car?
