FRONT SHOCKS

Hi guys, been told I may need new front shocks for my 89 2.7 944, ive looked at a few online & as usual they are varying prices, my choice is between KYB, Boge or Sachs the Koni ones are out of my price range, what would you recommend please ? cheers, Jinxy

Everyone is different in their views. On the cars I have tried with all I would probably go with either KYB (the Gas-A-Justs on a few cars seem to be great VFM) or Sachs out of the two. Maybe I was unlucky, but the Boge dampers I had on two or three of my cars were not much better after 3-4 months worth of use over the tired items I removed (an '04 Mondeo; the replacement genuine items outlived the Boge items (I changed them shortly after buying the car) by a country mile in terms of damping performance (more than the price difference) and on my 306 GTi-6 where the front of it never felt 'right' on the Boge Turbo items (I sold the car mind you)). My 205 would practically have its tail out on every roundabout on the Boge dampers despite the rear beam being rebuilt (it was a revelation when the Bilstein B6s went on (i.e predictable).

Thanks for the Advice, I think I will go with the Sachs units as I have a Sachs clutch fitted & never had any problems... well its a good place to start anyway, cheers, Jinxy

Let's not boast now Pete ;).

At least I haven't got all my mods (KW's Included) plastered all over the bottom of the page! [8|].....[:D]

Don't you know that my signature is my way of recommending products to others? ;).

Simon, that's brilliant! However, standard is lying a little about your car eh? (*cough* Wheels)
