Front end handling

...particularly skittly when hitting pot holes...
They can be a bit, but there are lots of factors - uneven tyre pressures, worn shockers and/or suspension bushes, etc which contribute to the effect. Not necessarily age or mileage related.
Checked today trying to do a bounce test and apart from being very stiff the suspension did not seem to lack the shock absorber effect!
You can’t really check them like that any more, with these cars. You need a proper rebound test.

Hi guys

Driving to and from Goodwood Revival yesterday with my son it was the first really long run in my 993 I purchased about 2 months ago.

The roads we took were particularly rough in places Winchester-Petersfield -Midhurst and we found the front end when motoring on a bit was particularly skittly when hitting pot holes, as we seem to have so many!, and on corners she would give quite a lot of front end jumping across!

I have had mainly MGs up to know and since my student beetle days this is a long awaited time back into a RWD rear engined car.

Checked today trying to do a bounce test and apart from being very stiff the suspension did not seem to lack the shock absorber effect!

So, am I being over critical and really it is our cr*p roads or could I do with a new pair of shocks?

Do you know when the shocks were last changed? Shocks have a limited effective life. Having asked a lot of questions and read what I can find it appears that shocks start to deteriorate after four or five years, 40/50 thousand miles. I have done everything said above and change the shocks. You might find yours are old (you might find your running on the originals, which will be quite useless by now) For what it's worth I fitted Koni FSD which I'm very pleased with but ask around. Make sure you are running on Porsche "N" Rated tyres, very important. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine. Simon 993 Cab 3.8 Etype (gone) Mk1 Jag (gone)

Simon is correct............mine was pretty skittish at 'ahumm' motorway speeds when I first got it. Changed out the shocks and springs to Koni FSD's and M033 rated springs along with some new bushes and a geo and the difference was very noticeable.

Homework is carried out in comfortable conditions, so at home, you can find the answer to a difficult question and understand the material. Unless, of course, there is time and effort for this. I have time to write an essay, but I don’t want to do this, because there are other more important tasks. Who can advise [link=https://essays.assigncode.com/]top rated essay writing service[/link]? I would like to order two essays on history, but I do not know which service to apply to. Thanks to all.
