Frentech - Brake parts

Paulie

Yes its easier with one (certainly doing single pot BMW brakes...) - I intend to rebuild my front calipers over the winter (928 Medium Blacks) mostly likely the same as mine ?

My mobile is out of action at the moment - chrisgrahame@yahoo.co.uk - let me know how you get on sourcing parts - compressor available !

Hello Chris, Yes same brakes on my car. I've got one of those twin barrel foot pumps, so I'll see how that works. I'd like to find a conversion with bigger discs/calipers from a later Porsche.

Ok Paulie, let me know how you get on - if you get stuck, you know where I am !

I'm going to do some research on Piston sizes etc - I know the OD for Front = 44mm & 36mm - just a case of measuring up other details (I.D & depth) to order new ones,

I have ordered rebuild kits from Frentech for both the 996 and 944. The 944 is 86 turbo with later S2/Turbo front calipers. After speaking to Frentech if I need replacement pistons, they will stock them, they need OD, Total depth of piston and also distance from piston face to sealing ring. Once I get started on the 944 calipers happy to share any details and dimensions on here if it helps anyone.

Hi Phil

Following on from this post I did some research - yes you're Bob on about the dimensions for 44mm & 36mm Brembo style aluminium pistons Frentech list 4 options - only 3 have a large central hole (for anti squeal shims) so its then a process of measuring up the central hole, depth of the piston etc

Let us know when you have any specs ?
