Samsung SM-T800 Tab S 10.5 tablet
Not sure whether it's appropriate to post this here but I'm sure someone will be quick enough to tell me..... I've just had the screen and digitizer (don't ask - I think it's the touch sensitive bit) replaced, having managed to crack the screen into a cobweb of cracks. It was still working fine and the cracks were all confined to one bottom corner, bar a diagonal crack across to the top. However it was only a matter of time till it started to crumble so I had it properly repaired at the Samsung Support Centre in Glasgow last Friday - £175! They won't replace just the glass as it's all bonded together and if you believe those YouTube vids that show how to do it, you're a braver man than me, Gunga Din. Anyway it was all done very quickly and returned fully working in a smart drawstring bag, having passed all tests. I forgot to ask how long the the work is warranted for but will check. Edit: Spoke to Service Centre Manager who assured me that all hardware and software is covered for two (2) years. Negligent damage is not covered of course.
I'm thinking of getting the new S3 so the Tab S is for sale. I've left the protective film on the screen and haven't used the tablet apart from switching on to check it was really working, so it's still on factory defaults. It's virtually as new, though are some tiny marks on the outside corners of the metal case and one 35 mm long slight scratch on the back which is only obvious against the light. The case is the full OEM folding case which clicks into the spring housings on the back of the tablet, and can be used as a stand. The Bluetooth keyboard is the OEM EJ-CT800 model, which latches onto the tablet and makes the case unnecessary. The tablet sits on the keyboard at the correct angle when it's open, but can be detached and used separately with its virtual keyboard, for example on a plane. There are several transit marks on the back of the keyboard, but not obvious except against the light. The keyboard must have been for the Spanish(?) market as the vowel keys also show the vowel with an accent. The keyboard works perfectly and I've never discovered how to use the accents! Tablet and keyboard are bronze in colour.
The tablet and accessories can be seen on the Samsung website. Retail for the package is about £550. I'm asking £250. I can post/email some pics if needed. I'm only putting it on the R1 section and certainly not on Fleabay, as I don't want the hassle of posting it to someone elsewhere who changes his/her mind and wants to return it, so we can meet halfway and view/purchase, or I could even bring it to the Knockhill trackday on Saturday, if the lucky new owner is going! See you all there - praying for good weather.
