First Driving Impressions

Very impressive Peter, especially the road trip. With the -10m PASM Sport suspension, does it always sit 10mm lower, or only when sports is selected.


 
I did enjoy watching Harris flinging it sideways. Having tried that in my 991 (at Millbrook with CAT driver training, not my local roundabout :ROFLMAO:) I can tell you it's bloody hard to balance. He makes it look sooooo easy. The modern 911 does absolutely everything in its power to keep you pointing in the right direction, so every effort you make to counter that turns into a fight. Harris is a driving god in my humble eyes.

Looks great in Guards Red and I'm sure it will be stunning in any colour but I'm not brave enough to choose Lizard Green.
I have just completed the spec on mine and now changed from a Coupe to a 4S Cabriolet. Still sticking with Gentian Blue but I have changed the wheels from the Carrera Exclusive to the Carrrera Classic. Black with Crayon stitching and belts and the build completion date remains 15 March. It might just make it over here for 31 March but not too optimistic.
Of the two videos I preferred the JWW one which is more of a user take on it. He is a Wilmslow customer, by the way, and he was filming in the showroom just before the New Year, complete with his entourage in three other 911's. JWW is in Majorca at the moment enjoying the dealer training program with Wilmslow staff going out next week - I kept dropping hints! Chris Harris is a bit more critical and although I'm envious of his drifting skills not many of us are likely to be driving ours in that way. Good tour of the cabin and I'm now no longer thinking I will miss the original PDK chunky gear lever. I agree with the thoughts on the cup holder, mine will stay in my garage until the car goes back.
I am waiting on the final details of a Porsche Club factory visit as a launch of the register which will be a first time for me. The departure date is 31 March taking in Stuttgart and Leipzig where we will hopefully drive their 992's on the test track. It will be 7 nights with many other interesting things to do.
Thinking my car won't be available I will be driving my recently acquired 2014 Targa 4. It is a bit of a step down from 600 bhp to 340 but in reality it has sufficient power and is really fun to drive. Sounds good even without a sports exhaust but I have to admit I was drawn to the colour - Gulf Blue. We are looking at 15 -20 cars on the trip and not exclusive to just those in the pipeline.
Has anyone thought about their 992 Porsche Experience Centre slots - maybe we could make it a get together for a group of us.

Agreed, the S with PASM as standard sits 10mm lower. As a result of watching these two videos and talking to a couple of fellow owners today, have now added PCCBs to my spec - this is getting expensive!
 
Yes Phil, enjoyed both those videos for their different takes on the car, and Pistonheads have done their first review today - all seems positive with the usual caveats.

Your cab will look great in Gentian Blue with the Classic wheels.

Great idea for the PEC Experience Day, there are a few Club members with early deliveries expected.

I have changed my spec, gone from my usual Carrara white to the Dolomite silver with slate grey/crayon two tone silver. The wheels Carrera S painted matt black.

I have also gone for the PASM sports suspension, RWS, SportExhaust black, Sports Chrono, Adaptive cruise control pus the usual customised bits.

The spec has to be finalised 15th February with the build completion date 8th March.

Just had a look at that spec Huw, and is a lovely combination of exterior colour and interior trim. Looking forward to meeting up with the cars in the Spring.
 
Great spec Huw, personally I would have ditched the Active Cruise Control and Power Steering Plus and added Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control but it's all looking super and very exciting. [;)]
