Firey 944 on the A41 on Saturday

Its not a huge job to whip the liner out Jason, just make sure they do it, or even if you do it, its only a 10 minute job, peace of mind etc.

The recall was for the short flexi from the rail to the FPR if I remember correctly, as this was the bit that split on the 2.7 shortly after I got it and sprayed a solid jet of petrol directly on to the exhaust manifold.

I'm guessing the fires are starting because of the metal lines rusting near the union to the flexi section. Could be due to vibration or water and heat from the exhaust?

Mike, it was the short flexi pipe at the front for the fuel damper, my 86 had this changed on a recall, my 88 does not require it according to OPC, But please check with them before disregarding them.

My '88 has had it. Well, according to JCT600 in Sheffield. It caused a good deal of head scratching before they could answer though.

I've had a 944s in with a burnt out wiring loom due to power steering pump pressure switch. It was a recall but this one wasn't. Also seen cracked fuel rails so have a good look round it with the engine running.

Where can I find a list of recalls regarding my 2.7 ? if I go to the OPC at Hatfield will they be able to tell me whats been done & what hasn't ?, cheers, Jinxy

Ok, bit of an update, all my Fuel pipes arrived by courier this morning, all pre-shaped ( 4 in total ), the total cost inc a new rubber pipe block & 2 female unions came to £286.37 from Porsch-a-part, hopefully Ben at Faze1 motorsport will start the work tomorrow, also fitting two new handbrake cables purchased from Porsch-a-part as well, cant wait to get her back, im suffering withdrawal symptoms LOL !!
