PCGB, Region 13, Hereford, Worcester & Shropshire
February 2009
The Hadley Bowling Green Inn on the Last Tuesday of the Month.
Situated on Hadley Heath, near Ombersley. Post Code is WR9 0AR. This is a well- known country establishment, with a large, good car park and within easy reach and is usually well attended. Our February meeting was attended by several regulars, one or two, travelling some distance. I was particularly pleased to see Gary Willn expanding his travels, from Region 9. Discussions, ranged over our forthcoming events, those yet relevant to this issue of Porsche Post are continued below. Now here is a tale of things to come, so oil and water your Porsche chum and join our happy band "" and 911s' do have water in their windscreen washers !
April starts with a run to H.Q. to view; the cars with the power in front. It is called "˜Front Runner' and usually occurs just before the summer. If your power is in the tail, don't be afraid to follow the trail, after all, it is a Porsche, so come and see your cousins all and turn out in your "˜forsche'. April the 5th, Sunday, is the day to make your way. Karting next is on the list, Regions 9 and 8, do not be late; this is an event, not to be missed. It is on the 17th, a Friday night, when we hope it will be light. An outdoor circuit at Priory Park Tamworth, Robeys Lane, Alvecote, so take a note. You have to be there at 5.30pm, for a briefing and all the gen. The cost per driver is £40, there will be hot food and drinks, so you can buy some rounds. A covered spectator viewing area is provided, so bring your wives, mistresses and friends, so they can cheer you round the bends. Morgan Works at Malvern Link, is next on the list and again a visit not to be missed. April 23rd on the Thursday is the day to find your way. A new visitor centre is built in Spring Lane, on the left just before the factory. The tour starts at 10am, the cost per person is £10, book with me but pay on the day. A maximum of 15 people will be satisfactory. Three days later, the Cotswold Rally will then, for you cater. April 26th on the Sunday, there will be a Tulip Route to show you the way.
May Our annual run at Curborough track, is back. May the 13th is on a Wednesday this year, so shed not a tear, for you will all enjoy it, you won't need much kit. Make sure your car is in good fettle, come and drive, but be on your mettle. The cost will be £30 per driver I will need your cheque up front, made out to PCGB with Curborough written on the back, so come along and have a punt. First come, first served if your late you'll be reserved. To get more time, there will be a limit, twenty cars, there will be "˜innit'.
Forthcoming Events. Are up above, so come and join all the fun; don't let me have to give you a shove. April showers may come your way, but bring your Porsches out to play.
John Lord.
