Fast response throttle cam-any good?

Guys
Does anyone have any experience of the Porscheshop "Fast response throttle cam" for the early 2.5 944 ? I just missed a S/H one on eBay and being as I need to change my cable, I was wondering if it was worth fitting one of these at the same time?
Cheers.

Yep , just bought one myself whilst also replacing my throttle cable as well . It sharpens up the throttle response nicely and makes the car feel a bit more lively compared to the standard one . no down sides in drive ability either , a doddle to fit and well worth the £20 odd quid . Plus being a PCGB member you'll probably get a better discount than us TIPEC members form the Porscheshop [;)]

or you could press your foot down further on the pedal.....

[:D] I've driven 3 Infiniti cars with "electric" throttles over the last while - 2007 G35X, 2008 EX35 and 2011 G25X - all with different "throttle cams" - the G35X jumped like a rabbit with very little throttle pressure (306 HP 3.5 ltr), the EX35 is quite smooth yet powerful (296 HP 3.5 ltr) and G25X needs a lot more foot down than the other two (218 HP 2.5 ltr) for similar road manners.

The good news with the Porsche mechanical cam is that you can change it back if you don't like the feel of the new one. A lot easier than changing Infinitis [:)]

I've got one of those fitted to mine. It was fitted before I bought the car so I don't know how it compares to the standard one. It does feel quite lively though.

The throttle cam fitted is just an economy model. The replacement was standard in other markets so it's not an aftermarket part that ruins the driveability or anything. It might seem a bit more on/off at first, but that would only be down to you getting used to the previous one where you need to really push the pedal to get through the "economy" setting.

Driven 2.5 square dash with and without back to back and swapped around and my 2.7 with and without. Definitely do it.

Sounds good. I think I'll leave it on then!

Alternatively, as I did on my 924S you can check the angle of the arm on the throttle and drill the disc to give a new position for the drive pin on the butterfly.

Cost £0 Time taken about 10 to 15 minutes. And to change back, undo the spindle nut and reposition the disc, refit the nut, easy.

Andy - Not sure if yours has the lever cam, if so yes!

Buddy - Did exactly that for the 2.7 with a bit of trial and error to get the positioning of the hole correct.
Also have to raise the cam on the spindle with a couple of washer to get the (redundant) lever to clear the spring.
Will take a couple of pics an post later.

Edit- Where my current hole is is marginal for cable length,
If I were to do it again I would move it even further round.
I left the long arm on so I could swap it back if I didn't like it on this engine.
