I appreciate there could be a variety of reasons for this problem, but I have an E3 ‘23 Cayenne eHybrid which has been constantly throwing up false burglar alarm warnings on the My Porsche App. The full alarm has occasionally sounded, but it’s more usually just the alarm ‘chirping’ and the hazzard lights flashing. I’ve had to constantly reset it - sometimes it would behave itself for pretty much a whole day, but then start tripping again for no obvious reason. I was planning on getting the car in for this to be looked at this week, but I came out to a completely dead car yesterday and had to call roadside assistance. I understand the lithium battery shuts down if it‘s being drained too quickly (presumably by the alarm) And this is what happened.
Car is now with OPC and, I’m hoping that this will prove to be a warranty fix. At the moment I don’t know if the battery was losing charge and causing the alarm to trip, or whether it was the other way around. It could also of course be due to faulty sensor/s, wiring issues or the alarm unit itself. Car has only covered 20k.
Has anyone had similar experience? If so, what was the cause and was it sorted under warranty? I’m interested to know if my problem is a common one! Thanks.
