Failure!

Went for a drive to the coast yesteday and when we returned to the car the dash flashed the following string in sequence:-

ABS Failure
PMS Failure
Check Engine visit workshop
Transmission Emergensy Run
Drive Off Assistant Failure.

Basically it would not enage the PDG gear box and refused to allow anything to happen. Yes I know get a manual next time.

Has anyone had this before? I assume it's either that I need to change the battery in the key or its something more serious.

Luckily I extended the Warranty so within 90 minutes the car had been towed away and a taxi picked us up for the 90 minute journey home. Maybe I will get value from the extended warranty.

If anyone has had the same please let me know what I might be in for.

Hopefully, it's just a flat (main) battery Martin. If so, because you're under the extended warranty, the PC will replace it with the dreaded Moll item and charge you through the nose for it. Depending upon the age/mileage on the car, you may be able to argue that it's not fit for service and get a free replacement; but don't hold out too much hope. Hope you get it fixed quickly. Jeff
 
On my Gen 1 S, I had a total failure of all column switches taking out the indicators, trip computer, etc and the cause was the Chrono Pack for which a replacement was sent from Stuttgart and all was well. Of course I had no PDK, I can't remember if the PSM was effected but let us know what happens.
 
Seems to be related to the ABS on rear off side, being looked at further but seems that once a failure occurs the car shuts down and each of the other message is as a result of the preceding operation. Awaiting a further up date.
 
Seems cataclysmic for an ABS problem but cascading failures are not unknown in many systems and of course the Porsche traction control in PSM is pretty complex, hoping you get it back soon.
 
Could (hopefully) just be a wheel speed sensor that has a problem. Which, in the real world, should not be expensive or time consuming to sort. Fingers crossed.

Thank goodness for modern diagnostic systems, even though they still require skilled interpretation of error codes for a satisfactory outcome. Jeff
