Failed rear wiper motor?

There was 2 different motors Andy, the 477 is the early one and the 944 part is a later one. The spindle diameters are different and the mounts are dofferent as well. I probably have good ones of both, which one do you need?
Alasdair

Hi Alasdair, I've already taken the 944 part no one off Phil - I have the 477 one fitted. On the assumption I can't make the swap I'll be in touch! [:D]

Cheers
Andy

Alternatively take it out and use a bung, the hatch will spring open more eagerly as well. Rain X or similar on the screen works almost as well as the wiper,

That's what I did, hence the spare motor [;)].

Phil

Arrived today Phil. Many thanks and very well packaged (although had a hard time convincing my colleagues I hadn't ordered a load of handmade cosmetics - anything you want to tell us? [:D])

Having spoken to OPC Leicester yesterday it may have different mounting but will take a look at the weekend and give it a try.

Cheers again

Just happened to be lying around and was the right size, although forgot I was sending it to your work address [:)]

Hope the motor works [;)]

Ok so just swapped them over. The newer motor does have a bigger shaft but the hole in the glass is large and the rubber grommet with the newer motor seems to take care of size differences and any leakage potential!

However, the new motor wont run. I'm a little baffled. Haven't double checked there's 12 volts getting to it but given that there was to the old one I can't see that anything has changed.

Would anyone by chance have a photo of the cable connection to the later style motor? It may be that the terminals are different?

Any help appreciated

Cheers
Andy

Thanks again Andy - as per text/email, it's the same as my original one. Anyone got a pic of the later motor type on page 1 fitted? Just need to check if the connections for the cables are the same

Many thanks
Andy
