Hi All,
I'm new to the Club and region, and have posted in the new members part of the forum but I thought I'd share some recent positive experiences with a non-OPC garage in Godalming, Surrey.
I should start with stating that I'm not affiliated with the garage in any way.
AA Autos on the Portsmouth Road in Godalming; I was referred by a friend who had taken his 997.2 for some diagnostics. Matt, the owner, is ex-Porsche and has over 25 years experience with them, was able to resolve the issue incredibly quickly.
I took my 997.1 for a new clutch, all new discs and pads, track rod and tie rod ends and a host of other things over the past five months. I'm also taking her in for a PASM fault and Cruise Control retrofit. Each time I've been in, he's swapped Porsche stories, had a chat and is really reasonable with what he'll charge for and what he'll do as a matter of course, I've even had the car cleaned for free from the hand car wash next door - not something that I'd expect from a non-Porsche indy. It's not a Porsche specialist garage, but Matt won't let anyone who hasn't worked on a Porsche work on your car. His labour rates are ridiculously low too.
Anyway, I thought I'd share the love in case any of you are looking for a good mechanic and don't want to spend £££s per hour on your beloved.
Enjoy,
Paddy
