Hi all,

New to the Forum and the Club, a serial Porsche owner, previously with a 986 Boxster, then a 987 Cayman S, and for the last two years a 996 C4S. I am looking forwards to joining in and hope to meet some of you soon.

Regards

Daren Hamblett

Thanks to Phil & Nette Graham for arranging a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon for Region 5 last Sunday. After a hearty Sunday lunch at the Denewater Hotel we had a very interesting trip to the nearby Avro Heritage museum, the home of the Nimrod reconnaissance plane as well as the Lancaster and Vulcan bombers. After the tour of the museum we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take our Porsches onto the runway.

Hi Darren, I only joined region 5 in October, it is a really friendly club and I look forward to meeting you soon. Details of the club nights are posted on the front page of the Region 5 part of the website. We usually meet at the Denewater Hotel near Wilmslow, do come along and say hello.

Kind regards,

Martin

Well I've sent 3 emails regarding the Gold Cup event without success-what am I doing wrong!

All I want is the Entry Form please!

Since Monday I have also sent a number of emails requesting an entry form without success. On Monday my emails were bouncing back, so may be there is an issue with Alans email.

I am concerned as according to the information I have seen applications have to be in by Friday 5th.

John W

Hi Vitesse & John,

I believe that Alan's email address is as follows:

r5@porscheclubgb.com

I hope that this helps?

I have also also just sent Alan and one of the other committee members an email regarding your posts, so hopefully you will be able to get in contact with each other.

Cheers,

Martin

Martin

You are absolutely correct-doh!-after my post,I think my brain woke up & I sent again adding GB into the address-now all sorted & cheque in the post to Allan with entry form emailed

Many thanks

Colin.

Thanks,Alan-just got my tickets in this morning's post-my anxiety (if that) was only because we are away from early next Wednesday until Saturday pm.

See you there -looking forward to another very enjoyable R5 event.

Regards

Colin Appleton.

Would like to echo the comments about the Gold Cup meeting. My daughter and I really enjoyed the day and the hospitality of Region 5. Nice spectrum of cars too in the line-up!! Darren (Region 7)

As a first time attender to the Gold Cup in a few weeks, can anyone share what time the arrival is for Sat/Sun to be parked inside the track?

Also, if you park inside, does your car have to stay there all day or can you leave between races if necessary?

PS - no tickets arrived yet, based on last year's comments, I guess I can expect these later in the month?

Hi, the following information went out by email to region 5 members, hopefully this will help you. If you still have any questions, I would suggest that you send an email to Alan Crosby our regional organiser, his email address is at the bottom of the email. I haven't received my tickets yet either, no doubt they will be with us soon. I hope that you enjoy the Gold Cup weekend.

THE DEADLINE for the application for tickets for the Gold Cup is fast approaching – [link=x-apple-data-detectors://2]Sunday 6 August[/link] – so if you haven’t booked your tickets yet, the best advice I can give is to do so in the next few days.[link=http://porscheclubgb.us10.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=6560e7ff41da269499b84cc53&id=6b0220ffd0&e=fa5ec5d923]Book Your Tickets[/link]The Gold Cup has become R5's main event of the year at the race circuit – with practice on Saturday, racing on the Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. We already have over 200 cars booked in to attend this year, along with the Porsche GB Display Stand – sponsored by Porsche Centre Wilmslow, together with our very own PCGB Club Display Marquee and Club Shop – where you can have a seat to catch up with friends and other like-minded enthusiasts. Full details can be found on the [link=http://porscheclubgb.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6560e7ff41da269499b84cc53&id=5fc6914672&e=fa5ec5d923]Gold Cup Web Pages[/link] The £10 admission covers a Porsche with two occupants for all three days of the event. This nominal fee secures your infield parking and post-event will be donated to the North West Air Ambulance. Please note, whichever days you are coming along, your car will need to be in the Porsche Allocated Area before the following times :[ul][*]Saturday – 10:30am[*]Sunday – 11:00am[*]Monday – 10:00am[/ul] You will be unable to gain access to the dedicated in-field parking after these times. As usual, we will be setting up our pitch on the Friday, and would appreciate all the help we can get from 10:30hrs onwards – with the promise of a free lunch provided by the Regional Funds. Please e-mail Allan Crosby at r5@porscheclubgb.com to let me know if you can help in some way ? best regards Allan Allan Crosby North West Regional Organiser Porsche Club GB r5@porscheclubgb.com

Fabulous Gold Cup meeting as ever this weekend. Thanks to all concerned with the organisation, both nationally and locally.

Yes, agreed PaulJ, fantastic event well organised, and thank you to Region 5, club, stewards, volunteers and all, for looking after the parking the cars, and creating a warm welcome. Remarkably sunny weather for a bank holiday weekend too!
