Porsche themselves have approved E10 for use in all Boxsters, so I'm happy to follow that.

This thus safe to use, but nothing about performance loss etc, just engine and fuel systems are ok with E10.

for utter peace of mind, any 99 octane is required.

E10 will not hurt the car in any way, but unless you can find 99 Octane E10 there will be a performance loss and decrease in range. For most drivers, probably not really noticeable. But it is worth comment that nor all 99/100 octane fuels are the same.

Tesco Express do not accept the Wex card. Only Esso stations and those based in a Tesco Express. Check the pump first? You should get 6p off Premium. Shell also give discount of a mere 1p. In your instance, your card was not accepted, so you won’t get an invoice from Wex. Hope this helps.

This info is straight from the Government web site on the E10 subject.

No Google If's n But's here!

Porsche

E10 petrol is cleared for use in Porsche vehicles with petrol engines since the 1998 model year and all Boxster models with petrol engines since the 1997 model year.

The Carrera GT is not cleared for use with E10 petrol.

It was an Esso branded garage with a Tesco Express in Buxton. I filled up there twice in one week and paid with my fuel card. I just didn’t realise the the discount is applied after the purchase as it’s the first time I have used the card. Unfortunately, I do not have any Esso garages close to where I live, so took the opportunity to use it whilst on holiday in the Peak District

Esso have to rate their E5 ethanol free as there could be a trace or some there somewhere in the country.

The reason why Esso 99 is labelled E5 is much simpler.

There is no official E0 rating.
