Hello R29ers,

Jumping in with both feet into the deep end, I'm a new member, new Porsche owner, no idea about mechanicals, just love driving about, travelling adventures, all types cars for work, leisure, pleasure, sport & racing.

Based in Hampshire! but on border with Surrey and Berkshire. Nearest local landmark is the M3 Fleet Services.
Hope to meet the group soon on events.

I have just picked up a 1991 928 S4 from Eporsch, Bisley, Surrey.
Not only very happy with the car but this will be my independent garage to service, repair, restore, enhance the car and they are highly recommended by me.
Roly Baldwin and his team really seem to care about the cars and the classic car owning/driving experience.

The car I bought had the inevitable couple of things to be sorted out and these have been done to a very high standard, and also several non-specified things have been checked, resolved, repaired, replaced.
  • The leather seats were refurbished, carpets and mats cleaned and refitted. (not asked for)
  • couple of paintwork issues
  • all electrics tested & working
  • new radio & CD player fitted (not asked for)
  • engine bay steam cleaned (not asked for)
  • advice & recommendations (not asked for)

Hi Stuart
welcome to Porsche ownership.
you may think about removing your full address from your post in case some unscrupulous types now know where to locate a 928!
hope to see you at the Surrey monthly meet

Cheers Captain,
Officially it's coral (red?) metallic.
In 2 days this car has appeared pink, orange, bronze, copper, gold, red, brown.
Absolutely delighted with it. Rgds, Stuart

Great to know of another good specialist in the Guildford area, I'm relatively new to Porsche ownership too, having bought a 2006 Cayman at the end of 2015. I specifically set about finding a reliable specialist as soon as I got it, so one afternoon I drove over to Eporsche and found it down a little lane off of the main A322. The lane had a sign visible from the main road so it wasn't difficult to find, but having turned in to it I found myself driving along a very rough, bumpy lane full of pot-holes and puddles, and I was NOT happy. There were a number of small industrial-type premises on both sides of the lane and it was a bit of a guessing game as to which was Eporsche, but I managed to find it on the left, near the end. The premises didn't resemble anything I had in my mind's eye after seeing their advert portraying a clean efficient workshop. I couldn't get in the yard because it was full of vehicles. It was clear I'd have to park outside in the lane, even that was difficult because there weren't many suitable places I felt comfortable leaving my car, - I stopped in what appeared to be a reasonable place to leave it a short while and on opening the door promptly put my foot in a deep muddy puddle. That for me, was the limit of my endurance thus I decided to give it a miss. I drove to Knaphill to find the other specialist who'd been recommended, this was Harding Auto Services. They were far more accessible, located on a little industrial estate near Anchor Hill. On introducing myself Mike Harding the owner made himself known, we discussed Porsche cars in general, my particular car and it's servicing needs, and, impressed with his knowledge I decided there and then to take my car there for servicing and maintenance. They've done a considerable amount of work to get the car tip-top and I'm thoroughly impressed with their expertise. Prices are very reasonable and Mike informed me that they have the latest and most advanced equipment, such that other specialists bring their customers' cars to Harding Auto Services for certain issues to be resolved. I will continue to use them, although I hear a lot of recommendations for both Eporsche & Cridfords at Ewhurst. I've no reason not to. One final thing, - on returning home that day I immediately emailed Eporsche to tell them of my experience in finding them. I didn't receive any acknowledgement. So I'm afraid they've missed out on my custom, although I'm sure their work is ace as described. If you have a car you cherish and dislike potholes and mud as I do, beware of the coming & going, that's all I can say.

Yes it's fine thanks! Anyway you have three local specialists including the one at Cranleigh, to choose from, and of course there's Porsche at Guildford. We seem quite well catered for around here!
