Engine Cranks But Wont Start

After one failed last year on a euro tour a failed pack is bad bad news.
I had a spare in the boot!
Had Zuffenhaus replace the lot when back.
80k miles, original parts.
The parts are cheap, so worth doing.
I have two spares now in the boot!

interesting thread, worth a fortune.

Well we have now found the problem

Coil Pack 2 has literally melted on to the wiring loom plug, the looms plug has got to be cut off and replaced, my techie chap is in the process of changing all the coil packs and wiring loom plug
You left the car idling for 30 minutes so this possibly created a hot spot, enough to melt the coil pack ? Would have been better to go on a 30 minute drive and leave the grass till later ??

As above. Why leave it idling for 30 mins.? Can’t think of many things more damaging to any car. No airflow. Oil pressure at it lowest. The handbook says “drive off immediately, don’t leave to warm up”. Seems like a recipe for bad things to me, and if it’s coil pack(s) rather than bore score then a bullet has been dodged.
