Do you have E85 there? If so, yes this will help enormously. You may need to run supporting mods such as larger injectors and 3bar FPR, larger fuel pump....plus you will go through a tank of fuel quite quickly compared to normal pump fuel. One because you use about 25% more and 2 because you will mash the throttle a lot more as it's FUN! [ORIGINAL: TTM No Patrick, I can't adjust timing. Can you? The KnockView suggests I shouldn't advance timing with pump fuel as it blinks a fair bit until peak torque is reached (it blinks more or less the same way as with the stock IC). The only way I can get more advanced timing now is to switch to E85 as the timing on the E85 V-flex map is I believe a lot more advanced, which should help throttle response nicely.

Yep you got it Graham. Not difficult, just a bit long winded and the possibility of seized bolts if the turbo has not been off for a while [ORIGINAL: GPF Is it inlet and turbo off? (I'm contemplating getting a 3" one made)

Uh oh [8|] Refit something designed in the early 80's or use something from the 21st century instead - dilemna time.ORIGINAL: GPF now the temptation to put a different turbo back looms!
What has the turbo been designed for, might be interested!ORIGINAL: GPF No, that would be a no brainer. This is a much bigger dilema - I already have a modified turbo (SFR supplied Garrett t04b/kkk hybrid) that's only about 6 yrs old but it's tempting to upgrade to a bigger one![8D]
hmmm, the turbo I'm *thinking* of replacing has very little lag, spools much faster than my k26/8 did, and will hold just under 1.2 almost to the redline. It only has about 30,000 miles on it and is in perfect condition - zero backlash, wear or damage........it's just that I'd now like more than 1.2
