I have just posted the following in the 924 bit of the forum but i thought I'd share it here also as i know there's probably more motorsport enthusiasts seemingly reading the 944 forum than the 924!:

"3 x 924s took part in the 360MRC's annual 6 Clubman 6 hour race at Snetterton over the weekend of 5/6/7 May and performed exceptionally well. All 3 cars finished with the top performing 924 finishing 6th overall (and 3rd in the "classic" standings) behind 3 x Caterhams (running in the "sports" race), a BMW 325 and a Mk2 Golf.

The other 2 924s finished 10th and 12th overall (7th and 9th in the "classic" standings")

Light weight, reliability and good handling proved that these cars can perform well in these sorts of races and the top performing 924 also calculated its fuel consumption to be an excellent 17 mpg meaning that it could have done longer stints and maybe saved itself a pit stop over the 6 hours.

The top 924 was just a remarkable 10 laps behind the winning Caterham and 4 laps behind the "classic" race winning BMW at the end".

There were not any 944s in the race but they would be eligible (I think the criteria for the "classic" classes is that the model must be 21 years old) and probably very competitive.

Maybe a few of you could think about joining in next year? It really is clubman level stuff aimed specifically at sub Britcar/ "normal" club racers. I did it last year in an Alfa Sprint and really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the info Andy, is like the Birkett, with 3 or 4 cars in a team, or do you have one car and change drivers?

One car and 2, 3 or 4 drivers etc.

I noted last year that the changes would allow the 944 in and it would probably be a race winning car. Did seriously consider it but I can only afford one "thing" per year so maybe next year. Does sound like a fantastic race from following its history over on ten tenths.

Upholding the 924's pedigree in endurance racing.. in period 1980 le Mans entry came in 6th with good result in 1981 & 1982.
