Hi, I have a 1992 964 3.3 Turbo and am planning to visit Germany later this year, understand that certain German cities have introduced a 'Restricted Access' zone to curd emission levels and you have to obtain a sticker to prove that your car was registered after 1st Jan 1993 or meets EU Directive 91/441/EEC (Euro 1). Question does anyone know how I find out if my car meets this Directive

Cheers Tim

I would call Porsche customer services, they should be able to help, I know mine meets that std as I got the certificate of conformaty with it when i brought it into the country.

Try this url.

Lots of info but you may have to hunt for the bits you need.

url includes pdf form to apply for sticker at cost of 5 euro, I sent off a note as my bank quoted a ridiculous charge for a bank transfer. Only applied yesterday so not sure how long it takes.

Emissions sticker

I have received my Emissions sticker, I wrote to Cologne enclosing a copy of my registration document and a €5.00 Euro note on 5th August. It was posted to me on 11th August and I received it on 18th.
Seems to take about two weeks, most of that in the mail!

Sorry for my tardy reply

I have heard that obtaining a sticker on the spot in Germany can cost up tp €40.00 and there are on the spot fines for not dsiplaying one where required of up to € 60.00

The stickers seem to cover the life of the car so €5.00 seems a bargain if there is a posibility of going to Germany and well worth sending for immediately before they go up!

Cheers

On our recent visit to Stuttgart we obtained the stickers from DEKRA, costs were slightly more due to the bank charges (as noted)
The sticker is for the life of the car and I predict that the majority of cities in Germany will eventually be covered by the restriction.

Quick update, took Fireblade's advice and sent off to Cologne, also enclosed an emission test results as my car is a 92 and the info stated that cars had to be registered after 1st Jan 93, sticker arrived in about 10 days.

Thanks for all the advice and happy motoring.
