Electrical oddities.

Good afternoon, recently got a 964 C2 Manual Coupe. Working through a few bits but seem to have some odd things going on with the dash.

With ignition on there are no dash lights or dials, the car will then start and drive with indicators lights etc and after a very short while the dials kick in but still no dash lights.

Just getting home and the red charging light came on dimly and got realy bright when brake pedal was depressed but no other dash lights still. Car still starts fine. Any advice as to where to start would be great thank you.
