Eldavo has an announcement !

Excellent...

It will be an interesting comparison with my S2

Is a half cage any use a all? To my mind it's better to stick with 3 point belts & no cage rather than a harness & half cage. I know this keeps getting revisited - just this weekend On Pistonheads

The B pillar area on a 944 is pretty strong anyway - it's the A-pillar that is the weak point. With no front cage, your head may be the highest part of the car in a roll if you are strapped in with a harness. With a cage in & no helmet, your head will be very close to the metal.

Am considering either a Brey Krause harness guide bar (bolts into both B and C pillars) or getting something similar to this made up:

Agreed totally. With a full cage the front of my helmet is no more than a handfull of inches from the header bar which I have covered in that FIA approved fireproof cage padding stuff (its rock hard actually but gives on impact). I just wouldn't feel remotely safe in one of these cars strapped into a harness and race seat without the full cage and HANS as well, might as well just have a normal seat and use one of those clips on the belt to hold it tight.

Lots of pics please!Love the look of this project!!Turbo S makes a great base car for what you are doing!
I started a project like this and ended up turning it into a race car!Have fun, can't wait to read and see more on this build!

Mark - don't suppose you had door cards fitted to your race car did you? I'm waiting on Alex at EMC to get me some pictures and prices but wondered if you had any pics in the meantime?

Hiya, there was a build thread on the car for the whole time I had the car,it is called "Something I have been working on" I have checked and it is still there I just had a search for it and there are picks of the door cards on page 4 or 5 or thereabouts, maybe someone knows how to put a link to it?
The thread shows the car looking like a Silver rose to a road legal race car,you might find some of the pics interesting?
Best of luck with yours you will have a lot of fun I am sure![:)]
