Although it's listed as obsolete, it looks like I've managed to track down the last early RHD clutch cable in the UK.
It was hiding in the parts dept at OPC Exeter although they didn't know they had it (listed on the Porsche global parts database).
Arrived the next day, so thanks to them for their speedy service.
I'll request the clutch cable for remanufacturing as it's a part that could take a car off the road.
Nobody at Porsche could tell me if the other LHD clutch cable 477.712.333.B was a direct fit or not.
*As it's not always easy to find who manufactures parts for Porsche, the following may be useful in tracking down replacements.
The existing cable has "Gemo 424400" marked on it and the new cable has "FHP" (which I think may be a subsidiary of Gates) on it.*
What are the forum's thoughts on whether to grease the clutch cable or not - the inner liner looks as though it's nylon.
As an aside, while talking to OPC Reading about this, the guy in the parts dept insisted that my chassis number 924910xxxx was not a genuine Porsche chassis number!! - maybe he missed the training lecture on classic cars?
