Early 944 Windscreen wash problem..

Have recently sourced and replaced the water pump that is on the side of the windshield washer reservoir including put fresh pipes to and from the reservoir, due to poor/non windscreen wash. Primed the new pipes with water from the reservoir too in both. Surprisingly getting even less water coming out the jets if any at all. Open to suggestions.. thanks in advance.

Could be partially clogged washer nozzles...if using straight water and/or unused for a long period - you might have some calcium build up in the nozzles - seeing as you replaced the hoses that is all that is left. You could force some calcium and mineral dis solver up the hoses and see if that helps but as this stuff is probably harmful to paint work you should rinse off the output immediately with clear water. Best would be to remove them and soak the nozzles in pure solution as per directions on the bottle.
Other option is high pressure compressed air...

Are you sure the very bottom of the reservoir is clean?
I say this because these reservoirs are very prone to algae forming rapidly in their nether reaches... when removing the feed pipe with ‘filter’ on the end (deep in the reservoir), check that it is not green and slimy!........ cleaning will help instantly [;)]

I have just found out the same problem could be due to lack of use as i have tried everything also some windscreen washer additives don't agree with with each other not sure its that though i am a bit lost with this also.

I'd agree with David's post-check those pesky non-return valves-they are amazingly simple things with just a flap of light green plastic inside but can get very dirty with detritus & stop working effectively.
I have in the past taken them apart (warm them up 1st ) & cleaned them out with success.

Yes this it a big problem with screen wash - one of the additives can react with something else (forget what it is) and this forms the thick snot like goo that blocks up the tubes, filter, jets and one way valves.

There are 2 types mounted just under the screen washer jets under the bonnet.
The 1st one after the pump (o/s) is a "T" junction valve with the stem serving the washer jet-the 2nd one is a 90 deg bend with both having the little valve flap in the little barrel on their output side to the washer jet.
Last time I had to sort out blocked washer jets,I disconnected everything, removed the jets & blew them through, same the valves & made new connections for the heater wires for each jet.
I have found that it makes little difference if the oertling ? Crimp clips are not re-fitted.

Thanks i will be on to that tomorrow and let you all know how it goes.

Thanks once again goodness how well put together is even this set up porsche never cease to amaze me.

Your suggestion was the answer pse_SC,
The filter at the end was super slimy.. cleaned thoroughly now works fantastic..
thanks for that!
Thanks for the other suggestions too.

Glad to have helped, Baz.
(To be honest, I’m quite surprised that solved it, after all you had replaced otherwise).

Just remember to clean it regularly - it builds up very quickly [;)]

As I suggested earlier usually the slime results from mixing incompatible washer fluids. It is usually the cheap ready mixed stuff they sell at supermarkets that causes the problem.
