Dyno Day - Sat 2nd July @ Weltmeister

Lots of interest shown so I have spoken to Allan @ Weltmeister and we have discussed holding a dyno day on Saturday 2nd July from about 9am. Weltmeister is conveniently located next to the Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit and has one of the best rolling road facilities in the UK and now includes a new fan specifically designed to provide airflow for rear engined cars ie the 911.

For a very reasonable GBP40 each car will get a minimum of 2 runs (or as many as it takes to produce consistent results to within 1 BHP) and data plotted will be:
- Lambda (air fuel ratio)
- BHP at wheels
- BHP at Flywheel (extrapolated)
- Torque
- Boost pressure (for Turbo cars!!)

Sounds like a great opportunity to get together and see whether some of the mods people make really make a difference or if your standard car is up to scratch. It would be interesting to see what people think their cars make and what they make on the dyno.

Would love to see a fine collection of RSs on the day but will leave the event open so we have some variety and numbers. Weltmeister can cater for between 12 - 30+ cars in a day so plenty of room.

Some admin ......... please add your name to the thread on the 964 RS forum if you are definitely coming so I can keep a record of numbers - I'll update this on a regular basis. If your car is 4wd we must know in advance so that the extra rollers can be set up. Please provide the following information name, car, bhp estimate ......... I'll kick off

Look forward to seeing you there.

Have you posted this anywhere else? The 944 one was extremely popular and after the reports that came back from what was a fantatsic day I'd have thought there would be quire a few takers.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Assuming it isn't 911 only I would be up for going as my car wasn't ready for the 944 one, but it still won't be quite ready on 2nd July and it's the day I get back from holiday too, so I can't make it quite that soon.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

The day is pretty informal, open to anyone who would like to come along. Alan said that depending on the numbers he could run it as a half day or full day so I think we have enough people for a half day and just about enough to get the burger van out.

I'll speak to Alan the week before and try and get some numbers to him so he can plan accordingly.

Regards
