Ducktail light bar replacement

One of the LEDs has conked out in my factory ducktail. Its easy to get the tail off but looks fiddly to winkle the light bar housing off inside. Potential for cock up has been detected. Has anyone done this to replace theirs, and are there any lessons learned?
