Driver's mirror not heating

Only just noticed my driver mirror isn't heating but the passenger side and rear window are fine.

I assume they're on the same fuse, so guess it's either a poor connection inside the mirror casing or the heater element's packed up?

How do you remove the mirror from the casing - do you simply get your finger tips round the edge of the glass and pull or is there a more subtle technique?

Tips appreciated.

I think from memory there is a hole underneath the mirror case where you can put a thin screwdriver in and release the clip holding the glass in place.

There's a guide on clarks garage IIRC.

You have to unscrew a threaded collar through the hole in the bottom and then it just comes away.

Thanks for that chaps, I didn't realise there was that little hole underneath and even if I had, I would have thought it was a drain hole []

Just checked Clark's Garage, reckon I'd best get a hairdryer on it to thaw it out first and try to avoid shearing a frozen bit of brittle plastic.

I had the same problem. when I changed the mirror base seals, I had to solder one of the connections back onto the heating element on one of the mirrors. Works a treat now []
