Just to further add to what David S. has already posted in the last newsletter, Anyone interest in participating in some professional driver training?
We have the opportunity in the near future of a professional driver coach coming to the Isle.

I had the pleasure a year ago of spending numerous hours with Mark, under his guidance. It was brilliant!
If anyone would like a referance about what Mark has to offer[;)], please contact me.
Those that are interested, contact David Shadwell.

Based on the responses I have had, I will be suggesting to our driving instructor that the week beginning 13 September seems most suitable.

Before he commits too much further he will require those who wish to make use of this offer to book and pay for the tuition. It seems to be basically a matter of deciding whether you want half, 1 or 2 days tuition and paying accordingly.

Unfortunately the booking must be made in fairly short order as he cannot commit to coming over unless he knows he gonna get paid.

If you would like to let me know how long you would like, a preferred day and any particular requests on what you want him to teach then I will liaise with our man.

Cheers
Dave

Dave,

I can commit to any morning that week. I would take 2 mornings but would happily fill gaps or take less to make it all work. Friday morning would be my first choice but as I said I can be flexible to assist any of my fellow members who have more (ahem) rigid work pressures.

Probably, but that should be confined mainly to the weekend, Driver training will be during the week. Hopefully it will work OK. There are very few weeks that our man can do.

Cheers
Dave

Hopefully some of them will hang around and let me use any spare GT3's they have to do my training....? What register's were coming over again? Peter will be happy if it is the Tractor crew.....

From what I've read they all seem to recommend the steering shuffle, two hands on the wheel leaves none free for the hand signals!

Not sure if there are any specific registers coming over but Geoff Ives may enlighten us if he sees this. Peter will be happy no matter what, I'm sure.

I'd be really happy if they came over in red ford escorts, with a flat cap on! And, when on the road, drive at less than 40mph. Plus, when somebody passes them, attempt to move into the right-hand lane and accelerate at the same time!
Beauty Mate!
Bloody Marvelous!
Struth.... what was that Mabel?
Would you look at that... a bloody fool... driving some european automobile too fast as usual!
.....
Oh well[>:]
Whats the fee? How much is the main man charging us?
As you were.
