Driver’s door won’t lock

- Can you leave window open, then key lock door and unlock with internal central locking switch.
- As you get open door / compartment 'beep' with boot open then unlikely to be microswitch, as microswitch not activating or faulty should give open door beep.
- As you can physically key lock the door then appears to be drivers door central locking motor / unit not engaging. Suggest remove door card and check the connections to the unit and if you have a multi-meter check power is going to unit, especially when you .
I've experienced several disconnected central locking units and damaged wiring, generally after window glass replaced
Hope this helps
The inside door handle mechanism and switch is fiddly but not too bad, the outside is a nightmare and make sure you disconnect either the battery or the window mechanism so the window doesn't go up on it's own whilst you've got your arm inside trying to get at the switch, it leaves scars, lol.
I had exactly this and it was a two fold issue, firstly the micro switch had failed but also the handle wasn't properly coming home to rest in the housing properly because for some inexplicable reason the circlip had come off the cable holding the cable into the handle connection and it was on at an angle and not closing properly - if that makes sense, it's hard to explain but you'll see what I mean if you get into it.
There are some good videos on YouTube showing how to do both.
