Drive TV on the 944 Turbo

I'm sure a few of you have come across the DRIVE channel on YouTube before.

They posted a video this afternoon talking about the best used cars for under ten grand. Naturally, they include the 944 Turbo.

(So, anyone want to buy mine?)

I've never seen drive TV before. I just wasted 1/4 of a gig of bandwidth for that []

At first I thought they were hamming it up in a deliberate 'comedic' waythen I realised they really are Mr Oak and Mr Ash , two of Americas most wooden gentlemen [:D]

Worth watching just for the experience of how not to present maybe ?
The format wasnt exactly dynamic either. Mention what we already know about a car then show one still picture on a T.V screen
( must have blown the $2.59 production budget) then waffle a bit then move on to next car and show a still picture of that one.

There's far more enlightening and entertaining stuff on this here forum IMHO [:D]

Maybe PCGB forum 944 possie should have a You Tube channel ! , it would defo slaughter that one.

There's a lot of good stuff on Drive TV, but that "˜blokes talking about cars' show isn't one of them!

Chris Harris does a lot of car tests for them, and their motorsport coverage is better than average.

Interesting video that, I was especially interested in the terminal speed of the RS over the quarter mile, I would have expected it to be a lot quicker than that although the actual time was very good, good traction. I'd like to meet one on the road while in mid gear, would be very interesting indeed...:)

Maybe PCGB forum 944 possie should have a You Tube channel

There is a Club you-tube channel, and as it was our own Mr Sims that set it up (and did most of the filming) it's quite 944-heavy. The trouble is, I hope he's not reading this....[&:], I don't really like amateur video that much, and even professional companies like John's haven't found the best way to get moving footage on the internet yet IMO. [&o]

I think that any you-tube clip should be less than one minute. I don't think we need masses of footage of events, it's only of interest to people wanting to try to spot themselves, and they'll only watch it once, or it needs to be 30 seconds or so as an advert. Let's be REALLY honest here; do we want to watch 14 minutes of a 944 going round a track, or 14 seconds of something very dramatic or interesting happening? I'm not talking about crashes, although that's always going to get the big audience, but not showing the long outlaps or periods where nothing much happens. That sort of thing.

The Cotswold Rally video is fantastic. But....what long-term interest there will be in it is debateable. Good to have as an archive, but how many people have watched it all the way through? I did, but then it shows some of my best lines through the Cotswold roads. [&:] It's the same as pictures of events; two or three really good pictures are better than hundreds of repetitive shots of every car that attended.

I bought the DVD of the Brands Hatch event. I've watched it less than once. [8|]
