I have a patch of rust around the drain hole on the cill of the drivers door. I’ll need to remove the door seal at least in part to get rid of the rust and por15 and paint it. The door seal looks original so bit tatty and perished. A replacement OEM is £25, original porsche £142.
Do you think it is worth replacing the door seal with OEM or just leave old one in place? Or is it worth doing it properly and getting a porsche replacement? I’m tempted to replace but it isnt causing a problem at the moment so not sure.
You can see what looked like a fairly small patch of rust on the cill behind behind the door in this photo. On pealing back that black cill covering i found a patch on the cill about 4 inches by 3 inches. luckily it isnt through the metal so think i can just tidy up and repaint. Something to watch out for though, i only noticed it when cleaning the car, otherwise it is pretty well hidden.
