Door Hnadle Tidy Up

OK I am thinking my door handles are letting down the outside of my car a little. I was thinking about tidying them up with a lick of paint. Has anyone ever done this? If so what paint did you use and were there any special procedures - priming etc?

Hi Rob, forget a lick of paint, get them replaced with flush-fitting Audi jobbies like that mental black turbo in PPC recently! There on my list if I ever get round to getting the car into a bodyshop!

Would love to replace them mate but porscheshop want £115 for a replacement one - won't be buying that then. Could you post a link to those audi ones mate because I am thinking it is my birthday next week [:D]

Wow - that's some project! Handles are on page 8, but what the hell is that prawn and egg thing on page 3?? [:'(]

Have to admit they do look quite trick but all that surgery for some door handles. Don't think I could put the old girl through that. I will have to stick with stock I am afraid.

Thats an awsome project...I love the handles and wheels[8D]
I carefully primed and resprayed my handles with satin spray about 12 months ago and was really pleased with the finishing result[:)]
You can either remove the handles or cheat like I did by masking the body around the handle and then paint.

My 220 needs them done, when the weather warms up i will loosen them and do a careful masking job, a quick key with some 1000 grit, prime and a once over with the satin black ,taking my time between coats.
Had a day on the old girl on friday, new v belt and power steering belt, oil and filter, new oil seal were the oil cooler pipe exits the diiff to sort a leak, sorted a power steering leak.
Then went about sorting a blowing exhaust in the wastgete area, ended up with a strip down as some lazy bassttard had not botheed replacing the wastegate hanger bracket bolts which in turn had caused the pipe from wastegate to turbo to fracture , bit of welding some new bolts gaskets and crush rings and "jobs a goodun"
Lost all feeling in my toes though !
Roll on summer [;)]

I believe they are from an Audi 80

Those handles are Volvo items.

Easiest way to go is to install 968 handles for better looks. If original ones (with Porsche script) just have them re-anoidzed, will cost few £ and looks like new.
