Does 944 power steering have a relief valve?

Seems I,m having one of those frustrating weekends. Not only is boost lower than it was when my car went in for a recon steering rack, i 've also found I am losing power steering fluid. This is the 3rd time my indy has reconditioned the rack in the last 2 months as it leaked a few times before.. I am now wondering whether there is a fault somewhere else on the system. Is there a pressure relief valve that might be faulty?

Any pointers welcome please! Thanks

Craig

Thanks Rob, am pretty sure it's the seals on the rack that have gone again. Is there something in the system that limits pressure from the pump?

Looking at the PET (91 944) there doesn't appear to be relief valve in the system unless it is integrated in the pump. Also all the rebuild kits I see online only include seals - no relief valve. Sounds like you have more wear than seals can hold - maybe try to exchange it for a rebuilt - you might slip by the core charge....
