Dodgy Paint

About 4 years ago I had what might have been referred to as a 'glass out' respray and all rust dealt with, new second-hand rust free wing and every panel painted along with a new screen. This was with a 'professional' paint shop who dealt with a lot of Porsches given there proximity to a Porsche Indy and spares place.

I was so glad to get the car back that I overlooked a couple of issues - like on some edges of the paintwork where it had been polished back to primer and some less than competent re-assembly. However one thing I did not notice straight away - and I think I would have done - seems to be a reaction that has occurred under the top coat.

This is Linen metallic. And for the most part the paint is in excellent condition, except for this and now some rust creeping through on the rear arch.

Any ideas what the reaction is caused by? I am guessing some incompatibility between the layers of paint. There is no rust coming through so I don't think it is that.

I am now working on getting the old girl back on the road with fresh pads, discs, calipers and full service, and whilst I know the car will never be pristine, I think I am going to end up in a paint shop again some time soon. Maybe I will pick better next time and be more stringent on my acceptance criteria.

The second picture looks like the primer has been applied too thickly or with not enough time to flash between coats. Not sure about the first, not seen that before unless it is rust starting to come through. Either way , they both need rubbing right down and starting again.

Were they really like that when you collected the car but did not notice??????
 
Fairly sure that I would have noticed it and that it developed a little time after I got it back - although I can't recall when. Kicking myself for not putting enough effort into getting it back to the shop to look at / diagnose.

What worries me is getting any corrective work requiring paint on multiple panels will lead to a full paint job again - here's an in progress pic from last time -

So the plan is to get back on the road, rekindle some joy, and then drag it back over to the original guy so at least he can see this and a couple of other points, then at least I can move on.

First pic looks to me like bad prep/adhesion and it's lifting, does not look like rust, seen that many times on various cars. Second pic looks like filler shrinkage but cant be sure as pic isn't great...it's all fixable though...

First picture looks like a combination of moisture under the paint (prick the bubbles to see if moisture seeps out) and rust beginning to take root.
 
I had a similar issue when I had the wing bottoms done on my S2 looked like a big blister which when I popped it let out water the body shop fixed it by redoing the job two years on. Pride and Joy Classics in Middlesbrough.
