digital clock

ORIGINAL: Diver944

Yes, only the CAT equipped cars have an O2 sensor but they are easily retrofitted as Graeme says.

It is important to get a 3 wire sensor (with heater) or the readings will not be accurate and will wander with engine temp.

When the original clock in my car broke about 4 years ago the OPC quoted me £280 for new one...[8|] So yes 50 quid is not bad at all.

The only way to fix it is to cannibalize parts from another one "¦ you need to find one that's broken in a different way to yours and hope for enough good parts between the two

Anyone know where I can get a bulb for the clock?
I tried Halfords but all the lad could suggest was to try the main dealer. Now bearing in mind my pockets are deep and my arms are rather short I don't think this is an option.

As a last resort I could try the US - http://www.allzim.com/acatalog/Clock_Bulb__944_968.html
Assuming they will ship to the UK.
Surely there will be a UK supplier?

You might find the Porsche Centres surprisingly cheap on some things - always worth trying first.

Or, try:

Doesn't look anything 'special' about the bulb - it looks like a normal baseless bulb in a holder. The bulb itself (the glass envelope) will pull out of that holder.

I tried to get a new bulb from halfords, local motor factors etc but to no avail, they looked the same but the fitment is too small. The blown one that came out was too small a fitment and someone had wraped it up in tin foil to make it fit. !! Anyway, got one from local OPC for 97p ...... and they had it in stock.

97p!!! Now we're talking [:D]

It, or at least mine does appear to be a bulb built (permanently) into a special holder.

One could wear a watch.
In my car there is usually my watch the wife's watch the phone with the clock on the front, my phone with a clock on the front and a radio with the time on it so between the 5 of them I am sorted.
My clock was broken when I got it so I guess you don't miss what you never had.

Scotty, I'm about to give you the cr@piest description ever!
Sit in the passenger seat-open the passenger door and remove the single screw holding the triangular dashboboard end piece-behind that is another screw holding the long plastic trim above the glovebox (remove this screw)-if your car has aircon it may have a small circular plastic vent(on the right), prize this out gently with a flat screwdriver.Behind this is another screw. There is a small rectangular blanking plug (on your left)-behind this are another 2 screws-the long plastic trim piece should now be loose and ready to remove-however you have to jiggle the vented section on your left over the vent direction control. It will go its just a bit tight. Try and get it so it is in the centre of the slot so to allow room for more flex (this will make more sense when you come to do it... I hope). The bulb plug simply pulls out, it looks like the bulb comes out of the holder, but it doesn't, its one piece.

And finally when you find a replacement get me one too! [:D] I haven't had time to look yet, busy replacing the driveshafts.

Watch out for the two screws at the inside end of that trim piece, the ones hidden behind the A/C control unit. A lot of people snap the end off the trim piece instead of removing the heater or A/C unit to gain access to those last two.

ORIGINAL: Nouveau

There one on ebay now
Item number 200216183990

With a £50 Buy It Now deal if needed - that doesn't sound like a bad offer.

I need one but after deciding to buy a new windscreen suffice to say my spending days are over for the next couple of months!!

Alasdair is the man, i have recently had one of his screens fitted, just as per factory, PM Him.

Agree with the above. I fitted one of Alasdair's replacement screens recently. Not difficult to do and the result is just like new.

Likewise - I too fitted a replacement screen bought from Alasdair. Worked a treat. would fully recommend! James
