Well guys it is with a heavy heart that I have to announce I will be driving a GT3 to Spa next week rather than my 964RS.

The problem is the 964RS is worth too much these days to risk it on the track. [;)]

I will post my experience of the GT3 on my return!

Charles

Well I never..........another one coming out of the closset.[;)]

I've been thinking long and hard about flogging mine till finally I thought yes it's going.....took the cover off yesterday....put a new battery on....taken for it's MOT....................and.............There is no way I can part with it....not even for my most favorite Porsche in the world, a 993 gt2 so I'm just gonna have to keep saving.

Good Luck

tell us about the GT3

Just a Red Mk1 LHD. I am hoping for great things with all the extra years development.

I considered a 964 Clubsport but they are getting a bit long in the tooth and why bother if your going to get your ass whipped on the track anyway?

I have seen the light! Same price as a 964RS but quicker.

I would just like to thank the GT3 drivers at Judgement day which helped me make up my mind.

but 30-year old results will be 'purer' than modern ones [:D] [:D]

What's happened over the crest in this photo?
Loads of smoke and all the crowd have turned to watch.

Could it be the prototype Audi ur Quattro Diesel approaching?
Possible, they got the ACO to change the LeMans rules so they could win - why not other categories - [:)] - sorry Des I know you a big fan of the old oil burner.

Duff unfo again Des!!!

The green and yellow car in the sandwich is my Cup Car driven by Herr Doktor Peter Fischer (a dentist) from Berlin, at Zandvoort in '98, Kumho Ferrari-Porsche Challenge. Two firsts and a second........[:D]

PhilRS's car raced in the same series and I've got a piccy of them both on track.

This thread is about GT3s! It seems to have been hijacked by the Cup brigade. Oh forgot, I should have posted in the other forum!

GT3 is wonderful! Power and more power and goes around the corners too.

I am very impressed. Could use it every day but licence would not last long.

Off to Spa with it tomorrow. Anyone else going over for trackdays?

Radisson Palace has broadband! [:D]

Des you should ditch that Polo Mint thing you have and get one really!

Powersteering and electric windows! A CD player too. It is comfortable for long distances and you arrive refreshed.

Wife was not so happy driving the RS out to Spa! Uniball wishbones and 18" with slicks going on so it will keep up with the GT3, maybe.

I have seen the light! Porsche Development gives you more of everything including weight. [;)]

Charles,, Des likes that agricultural seat of the pants feel .................... it takes him back to happy childhood memories when his uncle used to let him drive the tractor on the farm !!

Only downside to the mk1 is that it never had those jolly usefull cup holders !!! [:D]

GT3 packed in so it was the 964RS to the rescue.

Highlight of the day was overtaking Carrera GT!!!!!!!

GT3s and 966TTs were easy in comparison. Did get done by a well driven GT3RS and various racing 996 Cups. Tried to film behind PhilRS's 3.8RSR but it was not easy keeping up!

The 993Cups were not much quicker than the 964 and I despatched a few 993RSs.

Great Day! Luckily I managed to get the car back to the pits with a rear puncture. Some serious oversteer at the chicane. At least it was not Pouhon or Blanchement 2!!!!! I was very lucky.

Roll on round 2 on Monday.

Do I understand this right............

The brief love affair with the GT3 is over and you have reverted to Old Faithful to continue your cmpaign at Spa! Your comments re the 993RS/R Cup are very surprising, we never bash our fellow Leichtbau but respect the final evolution![:(]
