dead battery

Your car will have mechanical lid releases, which remain locked if the battery goes flat whilst the car is locked and alarmed. There are a couple of options: 1) Remove the front part of the NEARside front wheel arch liner, and get your hand in to the back of the headlight tray. Fiddle around, and you should find the loop on the end of the emergency release cable. 2) Remove the lever panel on the driver's side (2 x Allen screws under rubber bungs) and you can release the lever lock, which is a metal plate that engages in the levers. There are a couple of other ways, but those two are the easiest to explain.

Seems like you have 1999 car so I'm guessing that you won't have the pull out +ve terminal in your fuse box? If so then this might help: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=622826&mpage=1&key=open%2Cbonnet򘃪 Mine's a 2003 so not too sure on your model. Hope this helps! Adrian.
