Writing this in early February with strong easterly winds blowing and sleet lashing the windows it’s hard to imagine that Spring is but a few weeks away. Why not start your motoring year by joining us on a new for R7, touring run, our Daffodil Run? Weather permitting, we will see many hosts of golden daffodils, if not we will see lots of unopened buds but in any case, we will see lots of great Yorkshire scenery, enjoy some great driving roads and great company. Custom Google Maps directions will be provided prior to the run.
The run will commence from Moto Wetherby Services at 10.00am on Sunday 22nd March 2026, passing through Knaresborough, Ripon, Helmsley, Hutton le Hole, Low Mill (optional Farndale Daffodil Walk), Church Houses - The Lion Inn-Blakey Ridge (Optional lunch stop, there are alternatives) Easby, Chop Gate, Helmsley, Aldwark Toll Bridge (toll £1.00), Head for home. The run is estimated by Google Maps to be 127 miles in length and the driving time of 3hrs 41.
As with all touring runs members are not obliged to follow the suggested route. There are no timed or competitive elements. Drivers are requested to pay particular regard to speed limits through villages and towns. A few roads are narrow so please avoid driving in convoy on those sections in case you meet oncoming traffic watch out for animals, walkers, cyclists etc. also enjoying the scenery.

We do not charge an entry fee for our runs but we do like to raise money for our chosen charity Yorkshire Air Ambulance. We invite participants to contribute £10 per car or whatever you can afford. Elaine will collect contributions at the start.
We find Mitex General two way radios useful on runs to communicate warnings of hazards and provide general information etc. Many members have their own but we do have a small number which members can borrow.
