Great ,can't wait-but can't find the address to send my payment any chance of a PM,David?
Done the steering column-now just got to service the front brake calipers!

I'd love to come, but I can't do a midweek date, the one's Steve used to run were on a Saturday.

If it goes well, any chance you could do another one at the weekend later in the year?

Edit: Alright, I now realise this isn't a 964 exclusive event (I know we used to get a few other cars at the previous ones, but is was a register event.)

Hi Colin, it's all about numbers and cost.

Weekend use is severely restricted because of championship events so there are only spaces at the beginning and end of season when the weather tends to be poor. Also the cost of a weekend day is much more than a week day.
The other thing is numbers, I know that Steve was facing a shortfall which he would have had to make up out of his own pocket. Luckily a few joined at the last moment so it went off OK.
In the past I organised a day at Curborough when I was a RO and it was well subscribed but it drew on R9, R8 & R13 the regions nearby and because I had good friendships with the other RO's, we agreed to underwrite any shortcomings because RO's have an annual budget of £200 (recently increased to £300). Register Secretaries don't have a budget and 964 members are spread far and wide and you are the first member to suggest a weekend meet at Curborough.
If there are enough members interested I would gladly organise it.

We still include all other local regions, well actually we include all PCGB members and regularly have a broad membership attendance, it's a good social day out and to be fair inexpensive for what you get.
As David said, Saturdays are a lot more expensive and used for more club events.

'tis true that you can't get Curborough at a weekend until late October at the earliest. It wasn't much more expensive at that time of year but I limited it to around 12 cars on the most recent one which worked out at about twice the price per car compared to above. This was to make sure I had reserves for anyone that dropped out (and of course some always did!) because as David mentioned, I would still have to pay for now shows. It always amazed me that I would get the odd one who thought they could drop out the day before because it was going to rain and expect to get their money back! [8|]
