Chaps,

On this thread:

http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=690080&mpage=1&key=window&#690171

... Cater Racer said he was doing the CSCC event at Brands Hatch on the 7th May - it's the first Bank Holiday Monday in May.

I live fairly close to Brands Hatch, and am free that day ... what is the event, who else from here will be there and is it OK to come and spectate?

Oli.

Hi Oli, I will publish the full race card here, when I get it next week. But 944's are represented in 2 races, Future Classics & Deutsche Marque.

Usual field of 32 cars on the grid, mixed but 944's are well represented in both grids.

I can usually get some free tickets by scrounging round the paddock, phone or SMS Text me on the day, half an hour before you arrive.

For more formal arrangements contact Hugo at the Classic Sports Car Club.

Gerry,

Thanks! I'll PM you my number.

What time do things kick off? And am I right in thinking that there will be five races that day? (It seems that every CSCC series is running that day apart from the Super Saloons.)

I'd be very happy to scrounge tickets but if you think it would be better / you'd rather I contacted Hugo then I'll drop him a line.

Can I bring a friend?

CSCC usually put on a good show with some close racing. Unfortunately I have a prior engagement at Castle Combe that day otherwise I might have gone along.

Right, back home from Brands Hatch after a really enjoyable day at CSCC! Very many thanks to Gerry (Cater_Racer) for a pair of tickets for me and a friend, and his very warm hospitality! It really was appreciated - thank you Gerry.

Motorsport's not something that I have had experience of before, and this was a great start! Brands Hatch was much smaller than I was expecting (compared with the likes of Silverstone and Bedford) and everyone was extremely welcoming. There were 924/944/968's all over the place - well represented in both the Future Classics and Deutsche Marques series - and they put on a jolly good show. An S2 managed to hold first place for much of the Future Classics race against (amongst other things) a 911 turbo, a Chevrolet Camero, a Vauxhall Astra and a Hillman Imp-engined Welsh kit car ....

It all made for a throughly enjoyable day out - I loved it! If I wanted to watch more motorsport (perhaps some of the PCGB series), where would I start?

Andy,

I didn't know there was going to be anyone else from here there ... you should have said and we could have met up over a coffee!

Hi Oli, to be honest it was a last minute decision as the weather looked ok didn't get there until 11.30 , had intended to go on Saturday but the weather put us off.

Catch up soon though,
