Cracked Windscreen, Is it safe to drive?

Something hit the windscreen last Sunday on the way to Goodwood. When I returned to the car the windscreen had split further (see attached picture). The car is booked in for a replacement windscreen but Porsche cannot do it for a few weeks. We are due to attend the Cotswolds Rally on Sunday week. Do you think the car safe to drive and attend the rally or is the windscreen too far gone? We will have a 2 hour drive to get to the rally so it would be a full day in the car. Thanks.

<caveat - just an opinion of a bloke on the internet>

Is the crack through to the inside laminate (can you feel it with your nail) - if so then i would be cautious, but if not then personally I would drive the car - the glass is designed to stay in place - its not going to suddenly fall in your lap.

Some may view it as "illegal" , I figure "it happened 10 mins ago officer" if that was ever questioned.

So - for me - if I wanted to go, I would, but as ever this would be a personal decision, with personal responsibility

I agree with Paul’s comments, but you could always call one of the replacement windscreen providers for some professional advice.
