Considering a Cayman purchase.

It's now three years since I sold my 987.2 Cayman S. I sold it when I was in between houses and had no parking but now I have a house with a double garage calling out for an occupant. Now that I've started looking at adverts I realise what a good spec my old car had: Extended leather, PDLS, PASM, PDK, Sport Design steering wheel, Sports Chrono Plus, Cruise, Auto dimming door mirrors, Rain sensing wipers, Fully automatic climate control, and possibly more that I can't remember.

I'm now considering buying another Cayman and am hoping a club member might be considering selling their car privately. Ideally I'd like a 981 GTS, or a 981 S, or possibly a 987.2 S and am not at all keen on black, white, or red, something like Aqua Blue would be perfect.

PDK and fully automatic climate control are essential, and ideally I'd like the other options I mentioned above, and a low number of owners, and under 50k miles, and while I'm being choosey I'd rather only travel to the Hampshire/Dorset/Wiltshire area.

I guess I could be waiting sometime for the right car. If you're thinking of selling something which might be suitable please send me a message.

Being somewhat forced to sell a car is always a killer, whether it be for storage logistics, financial reasons or otherwise, I've been there myself a few times over the years so I can relate.

Depending on spec and how fussy one is, it can make finding the right car very difficult. I made the decision to buy my first Porsche a few months ago, spec'd up what I was looking for right down to the stitch colour in the dash and seat belt colour; nothing even came close to my full list of requirements and my patience quickly evaporated; so in the end I split my list into "essential", "important, but can live without" and "nice to have".

I managed to find a car that ticked all the "essential" with a few from the "important" and "nice to have" lists.

I'm now re-visiting the lists and trying to figure out what can be retrofitted and what can't with various degrees of success.

Good luck with your search ;)
