Coil voltage

Hi all

What is the voltage meant to be across the coil terminals 1 and 15?
I am getting zero between them as there is 12v on both terminals to earth, is this correct or is there a short somewhere.
It is a brand new coil.

Thanks

This is normal, there is no path to ground on the DME side of the winding until the DME dwells the coil ready to generate a spark. Have you had ignition problems?

I have mate for the last 2 weeks, bought a new coil, a second hand ECU today stripped the car down and checked every sensor for voltage and resistance still no start.
Bought a new dissy cap and rotar arm today for 20 quid and it fired up first time, so happy its running and I know a hell of a lot more about the car now but gutted I didnt replace the cheapest part first even though it looked in good condition and checked out ok.
An expensive lesson learnt, but I might keep hold of the ECU anyway as its for a 2.7 lux and there isnt many about at all to be honest.
