changed this on saturday due to the odd time pedal wouldnt fully return, around 20mm the freeplay

i power bleed it with the tyre at 20 psi etc, took around half a can of fluid from slave cylinder

worked fine for the first 20 miles or so and is now doin same thing but not as often??maybe some air in there still??

or should i get it done with dealer where it sucks the fluid rather pushes it

slave cylinder ,clutch etc was done in the last 20k

i have greased all linkages and moving parts around the pedals,me thinks its air

any suggestions would be appreciated

Like you say Phil, it could be a bit of trapped air pal. Give it a few more miles and see how it goes from there.

Phil,
I'm imagining the car may have been nose down with the rear on axle stands if you DIY'd it?

If so, the slave cylinder will have its bleed screw lower than the cylinder inner. You know what I mean even if I cant describe it too well?

I would bleed it again with the car level or nose up to get all the air out. (I had the same problem)

Good luck
George

exactly what i done, spot on,i understand what you mean about the bleed nipple being lower

also was just thinking i hand tightened the nipple before disconnecting the power bleeder, which may have sucked in some air

thanks for help

I would bleed it again. Use a rubber mallet and knock 7 bells out it to get the air out. Will work. [:)]

If rebleeding doesn't work.
There is ajustment in the pedal which can cause it to stick. There was a lot of threads about this a couple of years ago on Rennlist, some of it repeated on this forum I think - have a search around.
