Cluster now off to find if 'battery light' is defective

As I have been informed by several sources that the in dash battery light 'can' be the cause of my problem i have taken the cluster off.

There is one bulb and its holder missing from where I have indicated with my finger ( top left)
and three from the bottom right corner of the cluster below where the temperature and volt meters are.
I used a bright torch to find out what the bottom right bulbs are but nothing shines through the top left whole at all its like the lens is missing or something , is this the battery/alternator light ??

Presumably someone has been playing silly buggers and removed the bulbs , im sure they didnt just fall out !
I'm suprised as as I have never had any overheating or oil pressure problems etc and some of you will know
that I owned the car before. The car runs like a dream ( apart from not turning off !) and never ever over heats a jot , keeps good oil presuure etc and always has done so as far as I know.

I cant find on Google a diagram of which bulbs are which and dont have a handbook.

Also can I buy the bulbs complete with the plastic holders that twist in the back as opposed to just bare bulbs as I will need to get 4.

Thanks

Mas

Unbelievable ! , I take a photo shrink it crop it load it up on to my ftp server but dont put it in the post duhhhhh

I havnt found the holders on e bay or via google as yet so presume I need some from a breaker, if you do have any Mike it would mean i can put them in and move on to the next stage in this sorry diagnosis :p

I defo need 4 anyway if someoen has them please. Whilst the cluster is out i need to do the odometer cog repair too.

I now have the odometer apart and though its subtle you can tell the cog only grips in one direction. I need to buy the 20/21 tooth version of the cog having recounted ten times plus under a magnifying glass !.

Regards Mas

Who ever has four holders with bulbs and doesn't want to rob me blind [:D] , I'd love some.

Apart from the 20/21 cog hopefully my cluster is fine. I havn't broke anything 'yet' lol even got the needle off and that was a bit delicate.

yes that the small dash bulbs(there are only 2 sizes on the cluster...the blacks ones and the 3 large white holder on the bottom where the 3 prism are that light up the dash ).

So its the small black ones yr after right ?, i have these in standard bulb and in leds(which is brighter)...if you want the led one Just send me £3

my paypal add is : m.chow@sky.com

Mas, I'm pretty sure u only have one bulb missing. The top left is ment 2 be blank? Maybe this is full beam is on left hand drive?

The 4 holes missing at the bottom would be if the outside clocks where swap around lhd again. I'm pretty sure I 1st thought I had missing bulbs, replace them and they did nothing.

However u are missing one bulb, out off the 4. Which is the top one and the holder is a light mint green colour

Do you mean 4 of the little black ones , there are four missing ?

Cheers

Mas

i think some of the missing one are not really missing ....as I found that out when I bought the 2 spare cluster (they all seems to have afew missing in the holes ).

If i shine a torch through three of the holes cause indications to light up , im well confused now. Ill try and take a pic with the torch lighting it up hold on :p

T3rra is right I think you only need one as some are indeed blank ....but what I did when I replace all mine with leds is fitted all the blank holes with a "working leds" just to be sure :)

but be warned the plastic tabs that hold them in break very easy .

AHA ! I have found something. It seems also that three of the holes are bank in part because I have no airbags or ABS ?

This suggests which hold may need the bulb dont you think though it is a U.S car.

Mas

On my spare pod (945 641 311 06) the top one of the 4 is Airbag(!) bottom is Engine Check and the other 2 do nothing, as does the top one between the fuel and speedo.

Mike are you saying the bottom one is the ' battery light' that i'm looking to replace ?

Maybe ill fill them all in hehehehe , however knowing mu luck that would cause a problem though.

hey Mas , funds recieved , but can you email yr address to me again as it not really clear on the paypal transaction, and obviousely i dont want to post it on here for you to vertifly !

cheers

Had a bit of a look inside my spare and there are more bulbs you cant see!
If yuo take the oil pressure voltage pod off there are 2 more bulbs for the red warning sectors concealed within.
