He even likes pop up headlights!
I still dont like the fact that he destroyed a classic 1950's routemaster bus though[

Great clip, but I reckon Jezza's 944T needs some tweaking if it will only do 150, or is it because it's red [].
Nah, it's because it's only a 220 Turbo. Factory standard for a 250 model was 162mph, I think.
Clarkson is reputed to be a pretty poor driver (certainly not of the standard of Tiff or Plato) so he may have struggled with the extra power (and lag) of a 250. He certainly did well to avoid the S2, as the dramatically superior performance of one of those could have left him extremely embarassed.ORIGINAL: poprock

There's a video somewhere on Youtube of him praising a 944 turbo.ORIGINAL: morris944s2john
I believe "the Stig" at least some of the time is "The Tiff", who incidentally learnt to drive on a Morris Minor and used to race 944 turbo's..

BTW, I think you modified 944 guys should get together and approach Top Gear about doing a feature on the 944 scene, modified cars and all. If aired on TV's most popular program I'm sure it would do the public image of the 944 a lot of good.

I'm quite happy to accept that JC doesn't like Porsches. I find it quite funny really - especially Sunday's TG. After blowing sunshine up the Lambo's exhaust and slating the GT2 it seems the GT2 was the quicker car afterall.
Firstly it's not the sort of feature TG runs.
Secondly if they did want to run such a feature there are any number of "scenes" that would have equal or likely more attraction as one to feature.
TG doesn't do old cars. Even the Alfa feature they did where all 3 presenters claimed to be Alfa fans they were driving them into each other just like they always do when they get old stuff out

I sometimes seriously question if they are really into cars at all. JC took what has been reported to be a mint Alpline A610 and smashed it up to get a few seconds fun on a video, now smashing up any classic sports car for fun is perverse but to do it to a mint example of a rare car is criminal.

However, Top gear HAVE run positive articles about classic cars they like, eg JC in a 1960's mercedes SL and Hamster in his Dodge Charger etc, they once featured Escort cosworths and had a drag race amongst a load of owner modified cars, plus the feature where a classic car club (modified Frog eye) beat a chav club with their boy racer car on a hill climb. There are other examples.
Clarkson really does seem to like the 944 turbo, and I'm sure if he realised the S2 was (almost) as quick as a 220 turbo, but without the lag, he would like that too. I believe they would be interested, even amazed to see a modded 944 turbo beat a much newer 4wd 911 turbo on the track.
In this cynical modern, media driven world, you need to take advantage of any publicity you can get at all.

I agree.
You have to bear in mind that TG is an entertainment programme these days and it just happens to include cars. Most (if not all) of their features are staged so far removed from the real world that I often feel cheated when I start believing in them. All their races are so close it's unbelievable, their behaviour during the Britcar 24HR was outrageous according to some of the other competiors and plenty of drivers who were at their Rockingham trackday confirmed it was all completely staged and was not filmed during an actual track session.
If you remember it's an entertainment programme you'll be fine (unless you are one of the prostitute murdering truckers they mentioned this week [
