Child seats in the rear of our 3.2s ?

I was hoping this summer I could use the 3.2 as a " family" car and bring my wife and baby daughter along to a few meets.

However, I was wondering if anyone out there has fitted a readily available Group 1 (9months -3yrs) seat into their 3.2 .

I understand that there is currently a similar thread on the 944 forum, but I would like specific information on a 3.2. I have also contacted Quickfit but was told that to supply and fit a seat would cost approx. £210 pounds !!

Design 911 is selling a Group 1 Porsche Prince seat for £86 + VAT which sounds good, but I think my daughter is not going to like the " tea tray" which sandwiches her into the seat ! [&:]

I am basically hoping that someone has fitted a regular child seat into their 3.2 which fits correctly and allows my daughter to travel safely in the back.

Any pictures of installed seats would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

Anil

I have child seats in the back of my 911. My 4 year old has a superb Porsche seat (covered in pictures of 356 Speedsters), which is called a Zoom (I think). My 1 year old sits in a Britax Freeway. The Britax required the fitting of another lap-like belt to secure the seat. This was easy to fit but removing the seat can be challenging.

Thanks for the response.

I have seen the Britax Freeway, but can you please explain the fitment of an additional lap belt? Why is this necessary and did you get this with the seat?

I currently have 3 point seatbelts in the back. Are these not long enough to accomodate a car seat?

Again, any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Anil

The extra belt was about £10 and acts like a lap belt securing the seat in the Porsche. I tried using the 3 point belt in the back but it doesn' t hold the seat securely.
The advantage of a freeway is that you can use it in another vehicle.

Brian, can you tell us who/where you got the extra belt from? I was looking into this recently, and the only " fitting kit" I could find was one costing over £50, plus it involved replacing the seat belts!

I bought mine in the car safety centre in Stacey Bushes, Milton Keynes. If you go at a time when its not busy they even fit it for you.
