Chargeable investigation under warranty

I have an Porsche extended warranty on my Cayenne 4.2D. MOT at a local garage identified engine and steering rack oil leaks so I took it into my OPC. Their initial filmed inspection confirmed steering rack and engine oil leaks. They have replaced the steering rack but currently have not addressed the oil leak. They are asking me to run it for 500 miles and are trying to charge me £240 for 'investigation'. Is this not covered under the warranty? Picking car up today and wondering if I should challenge their approach. Any advice?

You pay for workshop time for the investigation . If a fault is identified and covered under the warranty, then you don't pay

Thanks for that. So I'm assuming given that a fault, the oil leak, exists and should be covered under warranty I shouldn't have to pay for investigation - even though they are not immediately fixing it and seem to be taking a wait and see attitude. Going to be interesting when I pick it up!

ask them what they will review after 500 miles? - if they are going to look for fresh oil leaks have they cleaned the area and taken reference photos of "now" vs "then". With anything that sounds dismissive, I always ask what the test/check/diagnosis will be after the described period.
